What's the first major news event that you remember hearing about as a child? Where did you learn about it? How did it impact your world view?

Mine was definitely 9/11. I remember both of my parents crying, and all I knew was a lot of people were hurt by some "bad guys". To this day, I remember the footage, but even though I know what it was now, I still can't have that comprehension, just because my memories are still from a young standpoint.

So, just recently I had the pleasure of purchasing the Box Set for Black Cat DVDs, in english, from Amazon, at an amazing deal price. The new ones were $64.95 or summat', but this one, which was missing the box art cover, was only $24something. Needless to say, I might be going on hiatus for a while to watch lolz.

I just recently started getting into the manga Black Cat, and I am completely hooked. Crazy backstory aside, it's not overly deep, but I like the action, and think it's pretty funny too.
